VIDEO: Learn To Control Your Big Toe For Better Balance And Stability
Here are some simple progressions to improve toe/foot control. Why they may look simple, mastering this isn’t easy! Be patient and find ways to get lots of practice. Do it when watching TV, in the shoulder, or sitting on the can. Any opportunity is a good one.
When you do gain ever more control over your toes, you’ll notice improved balance while standing still or when moving/running. You’ll also feel an enhanced connection to the ground in lifting and producing force. Unless you’re swimming or relaxing in a chaise lounge, your feet are on the ground. The more actively you can connect to the ground the higher your performance will be. And you’ll be less likely to experience issues with plantar fasciitis.
